Partner with Hurt Square
Hurt Square publishes recovery documentation guides for people injured in motor vehicle collisions and at work in Canada. Our readers are usually part way through something difficult, holding a growing pile of paper and a real question about what to write down and when. This is the reason Hurt Square exists, we build the places people keep all of this.
If you already spend time around people in that position, there is a way to work with us. There are two ways, and the one that fits you depends on your profession rather than on the size of your audience.
Why there are two tracks
The people best placed to recommend a recovery guide are often the people who are not permitted to be paid for doing it. Physiotherapists, chiropractors, kinesiologists, psychotherapists, lawyers and paralegals work under conflict of interest standards that restrict or prohibit taking a commission on a product recommended to a patient or client. Rather than ask you to work out where that line sits inside your own college's rules, we built a second track with no money in it at all.
So the question we are asking is not how many people you reach. It is whether you owe a professional duty to the person who would be buying.
Hurt Square Partners
For writers, creators, advocates, driving schools, union locals, community organisers, and people who have been through a claim themselves.
Partners earn 30 percent commission across the catalogue, paid monthly in Canadian dollars by Interac e-Transfer or PayPal once a balance of $50 is reached. You receive a unique tracking link and a Partner Kit, which holds approved descriptions, headlines, images and a sample page from each guide, so you are never writing from scratch or guessing at what we can accurately claim.
The attribution window is sixty days rather than the thirty that is more common, and the reason matters. This is not usually a same day purchase. The first weeks after an injury tend to be taken up with appointments and phone calls, and the paperwork that sends someone looking for a system arrives after that. A thirty day window would quietly take the credit away from whoever did the work.
Every application is read by a person. We do not accept anyone automatically, because we would rather have twenty partners who understand the subject than two hundred who do not.
Hurt Square Referral Network
For clinics, law firms, case managers, community health centres and support organisations.
Members of the Referral Network receive no commission, no rebate, no revenue share, no bonus and no gift, in any amount, at any time. That is not an oversight, it is the design. There is nothing here for you to declare to a patient as a financial interest, because there is nothing to declare.
What you receive instead is this:
- A code giving 15 percent off any Hurt Square guide. The discount belongs entirely to the person buying it.
- One complimentary copy of the guide for your province and practice area, kept for your own reference.
- A printed one page insert, sized for intake folders and discharge packages.
- An optional listing in our public directory of participating organisations.
We also ask that you never send us patient information of any kind. The code works without it, we do not want it, and we will not accept it. Anything a purchaser tells us, they tell us themselves.
What we ask of everyone
Two things matter more than the rest, and we would rather say them here than in an email afterwards.
Our guides are documentation tools. They are not legal advice, medical advice or insurance advice, they do not replace a lawyer or a clinician, and they do not change the outcome of anyone's claim. Please describe them the way we describe them.
Nobody is approached at the worst moment of their week. No promotion happens at collision scenes, in emergency departments, in hospital corridors, at tow yards or in repair shops, and nobody is contacted using names taken from collision reports, court records or purchased injury lists. Someone hurt an hour ago needs a paramedic and a phone call to somebody who loves them. Anyone who crosses that line leaves the program the same day.
Partners earning commission disclose it on every post, clearly and near the top, using wording such as "I earn a commission from this link" or the tag #affiliate. Canadian advertising rules require it, responsibility for it is shared between you and us, and we take it seriously for both our sakes.
How to apply
Applications take a few minutes. Tell us who you are, where you are, where you would be talking about Hurt Square, and whether you hold a professional licence. We will place you in the track that fits, which is sometimes not the one you applied for, and we will explain why if that happens.
If you would rather ask a question first, write to us at hello@hurtsquare.ca. A person reads it.
